The pricing of an icon is not an easy thing.  I have been writing icons for 11 years and have spent countless hours studying iconography and iconology and thus a simple hourly rate is not possible.  My pricing starts arround $350 for a simple 9x12 composition of a saint, more for icons of the Theotokos and Christ or for festal type icons.  With a few exceptions the smallest icon I will write is 9 inches x 12 inches.  Each icon commission is on a case by case basis.  I prefer to work in larger sizes and I also enjoy writing icons of rare and unusual Orthodox saints so if there is an icon that is rare or hard to find don't hesitate to contact me.  There is a several month backlog of work for me and thus a 3-4 month wait is the mimimum time I can promise to have an icon written in.  For icons which need to be written more quickly a premium will be charged.  If you have any questions about commissioning an icon please feel free to contact me.
